25 Quran Verse About Jesus and Mary

Hello Iweblogsite friends, the topic of this article will talk about the Islamic opinion about Jesus and Mother Mary. Note that Jesus in Islam is regarded as a prophet, not a god.

Jesus or Isa was a fourth prophet before Muhammad who was sent for children of Israel. Did you know that, the name Isa is mentioned 25 times, while the name of Muhammad is only mentioned 4 times in Quran.

Why can this happen? All this shows many things. These include:

1. The position of Prophet Isa is very high in Islam
2. The association between Jesus and Muhammad
3. What is important is not how much it is, but the meaning of the Quran

"Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was" [Ali ‘Imron: 59]

"And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and sheltered them within a high ground having level [areas] and flowing water." [Al-Mu’minun: 50]

"He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous." [Ali ‘Imran: 46]

"Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel" [Az-Zukhruf: 59]

"O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs" [An-Nisaa’: 171]

"And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah . And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead - by permission of Allah . And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers" [Ali imron : 49]

Laqad kafarallażīna qālū innallāha huwal-masīḥubnu maryam, wa qālal-masīḥu yā banī isrā`īla'budullāha rabbī wa rabbakum, innahụ may yusyrik billāhi fa qad ḥarramallāhu 'alaihil-jannata wa ma`wāhun-nār, wa mā liẓ-ẓālimīna min anṣār

"They have certainly disbelieved who say, " Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers" [Al-Maidah: 72]

"O you who have believed, be supporters of Allah, as when Jesus, the son of Mary, said to the disciples, "Who are my supporters for Allah?" The disciples said, "We are supporters of Allah" And a faction of the Children of Israel believed and a faction disbelieved. So We supported those who believed against their enemy, and they became dominant" [Ash-Shaff: 14]

Wa qaulihim innā qatalnal-masīḥa 'īsabna maryama rasụlallāh, wa mā qatalụhu wa mā ṣalabụhu wa lākin syubbiha lahum, wa innallażīnakhtalafụ fīhi lafī syakkim min-h, mā lahum bihī min 'ilmin illattibā'aẓ-ẓanni wa mā qatalụhu yaqīnā

"And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah ." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain" [An nisa : 157]

But she pointed to the babe. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?"
He said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah. He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet;
"And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live;
"(He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable;
"So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)"
Such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: (it is) a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute
[Maryam:29 - 34]

Muslims are convinced about the existence of Jesus today, that is in the sky in the still life and not dead. And it has been mentioned by Allah in His word

"And they did not kill him, for certain" [An nisa 157] "Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise" [An nisa : 158]

Iż qālallāhu yā 'īsā innī mutawaffīka wa rāfi'uka ilayya wa muṭahhiruka minallażīna kafarụ wa jā'ilullażīnattaba'ụka fauqallażīna kafarū ilā yaumil-qiyāmah, ṡumma ilayya marji'ukum fa aḥkumu bainakum fīmā kuntum fīhi takhtalifụn

"[Mention] when Allah said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ" [Ali imron : 55]

The decline of the Prophet Jesus to the world at the end of time is the faith believed by all Muslims in the world, and is one of the signs of the day of Resurrection. No one of the Muslims is denying this incident. They even consider this to be something that every Muslim must believe :

Wa im min ahlil-kitābi illā layu`minanna bihī qabla mautih, wa yaumal-qiyāmati yakụnu 'alaihim syahīdā

And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in Jesus before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be against them a witness [An nisa : 159]

Besides Jesus, another figure that makes non-Muslims curious whether the Quran discuss it or not, is the mother of Mary. We will discuss some verses in the Quran discussing the figure of this mother of Jesus

Wa ja'alnabna maryama wa ummahū āyataw wa āwaināhumā ilā rabwatin żāti qarāriw wa ma'īn

"And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and sheltered them within a high ground having level [areas] and flowing water." [Al mu'minun : 50]

"Wa maryamabnata 'imrānallatī aḥṣanat farjahā fa nafakhnā fīhi mir rụḥinā wa ṣaddaqat bikalimāti rabbihā wa kutubihī wa kānat minal-qānitīn"

And Maryam (Mary) daughter of Imran, who kept safe her private parts, (i.e., safeguarded) so We breathed in it of Our Spirit, and she sincerely (believed) in the Words of her Lord, and His Books; and she was one of the devout. [At tahrim : 12]

Waith qalati almalaikatu ya maryamu inna Allaha istafaki watahharaki waistafaki AAala nisai alAAalameena

"And [mention] when the angels said, “O Mary, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds" [Ali imran 42]

The story of Maryam, can you read more about the Sura Ali Imron and Sura Maryam that is in the Quran. Because these two surah will tell a lot about this story of the mother of Jesus
