12 Quran Verse about Parent and Child

The child is a parent's mirror. How parents behave, so does the child imitate. If every day gets bad, then the child will learn the same towards others. And if the child gets a good thing, then the child will give good things to others. That is the reason why Islam teaches the role of parents and children in daily life

Prophet Muhammad said "Whoever gets a test or suffers from taking care of his children, then he does good to them, then his children will be a deterrent to him from the torment of hell" HR Bukhari-Muslim

Parents and children have each played an important role in life. There are responsibilities and rights to be given, all of which have been described in the Quran as the holy book of muslims. Here will be given some quran verses explaining about parents and children

Upon the father is the mothers' provision and their clothing according to what is acceptable. No person is charged with more than his capacity. No mother should be harmed through her child, and no father through his child. And upon the [father's] heir is [a duty] like that [of the father]. And if they both desire weaning through mutual consent from both of them and consultation, there is no blame upon either of them. And if you wish to have your children nursed by a substitute, there is no blame upon you as long as you give payment according to what is acceptable. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Seeing of what you do

4. Quran An-Nisa 11

Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females. But if there are [only] daughters, two or more, for them is two thirds of one's estate. And if there is only one, for her is half. And for one's parents, to each one of them is a sixth of his estate if he left children. But if he had no children and the parents [alone] inherit from him, then for his mother is one third. And if he had brothers [or sisters], for his mother is a sixth, after any bequest he [may have] made or debt. Your parents or your children - you know not which of them are nearest to you in benefit. [These shares are] an obligation [imposed] by Allah . Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.

5. Quran Al-Baqarah: 83

And [recall] when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel, [enjoining upon them], "Do not worship except Allah ; and to parents do good and to relatives, orphans, and the needy. And speak to people good [words] and establish prayer and give zakah." Then you turned away, except a few of you, and you were refusing

6. Quran Luqman: 14-15

And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination

But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.

The Interpretation : Quran Luqman: 14-15

The mother who has given birth and also gives milk to her child. Dad tried and fought hard to make a family living in order to live a decent life.

The struggle is not easy and it takes tremendous patience and strength. God has commanded parents to do good. God commands people to be grateful for the favors and gifts God has given them in this life.

7. Quran Al-Ahqaf: 15-18

And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."

The Interpretation Al-Ahqaf: 15-18 :

Mothers who conceive, breastfeed and educate us are part of the enjoyment and form of gratitude we must give to God. Those who believe will surely understand that with that pleasure, we must be more faithful to God who has given parents a great favor.

However, often people forget and make parents a destination that can defeat God in life. this must be watched over and not to happen, for later God will circumcise and hate it

Quran Verse about Children

Children are an important foundation in a country's future, as is Islam. In Islam, children are of an ideal age and have many priorities. The following are some of the priorities of children in Islam contained in the Quran :

8. Quran Al Isra 31

wa lā taqtulū aulādakum khasy-yata imlāq, naḥnu narzuquhum wa iyyākum, inna qatlahum kāna khiṭ`ang kabīrā

And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, their killing is ever a great sin

9. Quran Al-baqarah Verse 215

They ask you, [O Muhammad], what they should spend. Say, "Whatever you spend of good is [to be] for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveler. And whatever you do of good - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it."

10. Quran As-Saffat Verse 100

rabbi hab lī minaṣ-ṣāliḥīn

My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous

11. Quran Al-A'raf verse 190

fa lammā ātāhumā ṣāliḥan ja'alā lahụ syurakā`a fīmā ātāhumā, fa ta'ālallāhu 'ammā yusyrikụn

But when He gives them a good [child], they ascribe partners to Him concerning that which He has given them. Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him.

12. Quran Al-baqarah verse 233
